I had a client come to me who just recently had her Grand Mother pass away. They needed a slideshow of some memories recreated to share with family who couldn't be with them and as a keep sake. They came to me with a handful of images from scans and cell phone pictures and ask me to do my best as it was all they had to work with. I knew this would be a task and challenge with most of the image being very small or very low in quality and even printed on regular paper. It was a mess and I've never really done anything like this before so I was apprehensive at best to even consider the task. As began to do this my heart and mind my very soul itself began to open up in ways that it hasn't for a long time and in some ways that they never had. I suddenly saw photographs for what they are looking past the technical details of the images like the sharpness the off color and poor white balance the bad perspectives and the distracting tangents in the images. This stuff mattered none with my new found perspective being able to look into the heart of the images. I actually began to weep as I got deeper and deeper into the edit and realized how perfect all of these images actually were. I feel so blessed right now....so humbled I can not describe with words. I am honored to have been able to do this for this family and it's something I will remember for the rest of my life. Helen Marie Duncan I thank you for blessing me with your presence and a glimpse into your life. I thank you for touching me even though I never knew you. Thank you for being a Grandmother, Mother, Sister Wife and friend in this world. You will be and are missed. I do this for you and your family in the spirit of The Olivia Act.
